AREA OF CONSIDERATION:
U.S. citizens in the commuting area who are authorized sponsors or command-sponsored dependents of civilian and military personnel.
INTRODUCTION:
This position is located within the Food & Beverage Division, at MWR Department, Rota, Spain. The primary purpose of this position is to operate a cash register, receive payment, take customers’ orders and assist with simple food preparation.
DUTIES:
The incumbent operates a cash register, collects monies, makes changes, cashes checks, sells foreign currency and makes slot machine refunds, processes credit card transactions. Prepares daily cash sales receipts; responsible for change funds. The employee prepares daily activity report (DAR) at the end of the shift for cash handling accountability. Cashier is responsible for taking payments from customers, making change, and giving receipts. Keeps records of transactions and prepares cash and checks for deposits. Prepares sales reports. Answers the phone, takes reservations and serves as hosts by seating patrons. Sells any displayed items at the counter and has front desk duties. Sells tickets to customers and operates ticket dispenser machines. Prepares foods on tray and containers for serving. Fills cups form drink dispensers or provides bottles or cans of drinks. Prepares simple food as hot dogs, sandwiches, etc. Maintains counter spaces and work area in clean conditions and orderly fashion. Insures spills and or dropped food is removed quickly to prevent safety hazards. Fills condiment dispensers, napkins holders, etc. Clears and cleans dining tables and disposes of food waste and trash left on counters or tables. Receives and signs merchandise from warehouse to storage area. Others related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualification Requirements: Six (6) months of general experience OR one (1) year of education above high school.
General Experience: any type of work that demonstrates the applicant’s ability to perform the work of the position.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position requires successful completion of: physical examination, Local Background Investigation and NACI Background.

Selected applicant will not lose any entitlement for future spouse preference eligibility (NAF/GS positions)

The incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts

Selected is subject to direct deposit of pay

Persons who are US Citizens and persons who are US Citizens and also citizens of Spain are not employable in a US Position.

If selected, military personnel must provide this office with written authorization from their command to work during off-duty hours.

NATO SOFA and Agreement on Defense Cooperation (ADC) between Spain and the United States are applicable when determining eligibility.
