AREA OF CONSIDERATION:

US Citizens in the local commuting area that are: current permanent NAF/APF Employees, spouses or family members of Active Duty Military members, or spouses or family members of DoD Civilian Employees.

 

INTRODUCTION:

This position is located at THEATER within the Business Activities Program Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department, US Naval Station Rota, Spain. The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of manual tasks that are easily learned. This position describes a mixed job and should only be used where the paramount work cannot be determined or a combination of different duties is being performed.

 

DUTIES:

Scrapes and pre-rinses restaurant utensils. Separate food waste and trash and load dished into dishwasher. Hand washes dishes and stores the cleaned ones. Cleans sandwich units, ice cream, freezers, ice machines, ovens, fryer, cookers, coffee and tea urns, etc. cuts or peels fruit and vegetables.

Remove dishes from tables and carries to dishwashing area. Cleans tables of paper and sets tables with clean linen, salt, pepper, sugar, glasses, etc. Serves food from a predetermined menu and banquets. Obtains beverages from bar and serves customers common-call drinks. Carries out bar related duties such as filling ice bins, replacing empty beer kegs, stocking beer coolers, etc.

Maintain the center areas clean, organized and in sanitary condition. Replenishes towels, soap and tissues. Opens, unpacks and removes contents of cartons and carries to places where directed. Perform general duties such as picking up trash and paper, pulling weeds, or watering grass in adjoining area, Moves tables, chairs, buffet equipment and other furniture. Moves tables, chairs, buffet equipment and other furniture. Carries food to buffet line and cleans equipment. Runs errands and performs other duties as assigned.

NOTE: This employment requires constant standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Frequently requiring light-moderate carrying and lifting objects weighing 5-10 pounds, and occasionally lifting up to 45 pounds. Uses dolly for heavier objects. Work is normally inside well-lighted and heated areas; exposure to heat, steam, humidity and sometimes cold. Chance of minor injuries such as cuts, bruises, and scrapes. Subjects to noise, drafts, dust and dirt. May occasionally work outdoors.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

No training or previous work experience is required. Must be able to read signs, and to follow simple oral and written instructions. Must possess skill to use knives and slices to cut, peel, slice, and prepare limes, lemons, etc. and to operate commonly used cleaning equipment.

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • This position requires successful completion of: physical examination, Local Background Investigation and NACI Background.

  • Selected applicant will not lose any entitlement for future spouse preference eligibility (NAF/GS positions)

  • The incumbent will be required to work nights, weekends, holidays and split shifts

  • Selected is subject to direct deposit of pay

  • Persons who are US Citizens and persons who are US Citizens and also citizens of Spain are not employable in a US Position.

  • NATO SOFA and Agreement on Defense Cooperation (ADC) between Spain and the United States are applicable when determining eligibility.
